Sofia Gubaidulina was born in Chistopol (Tatarstan) in 1931. During his youth spend much time praying in the fields near her home to become a composer. Today he lives in Germany. Marina Tsvetaeva was born on October 8, 1892 in Moscow. And everywhere she believes she is seeing the Devil. Happy with her discoveries constantly writes up to the day of her voluntary death at Yelabuga on August 31st, 1941. Sofia Gubaidulina composed in 1982 his work Hommage a Marina Tsvetayeva, suite in five movements for a chorus a cappella based on poems by Marina. Gubaidulina says: “I find no other way to explain the existence of art as a mean to express something bigger than ourselves. I cannot get a simple musical decision, except to establish a connection with God. If you separate out the religious goal of the music, the music would mean nothing to me.” And Tsvetaeva: The most valuable thing in poems and in life is that has come involuntarily. Vivir en el fuego attempts a dialogue between the two: a conversation at a desired time between God and the Devil: music and poetry.
